Sun, 11/11/2018 - 02:52Can people at a college tell a student that they need to drop a class, do it a different way or have somebody going to class with you everyday you have class, is that fair or can they get in trouble for that? Same for in the elementary school, middle school and high school?

Hi there,If you are in the US, the disability laws dictate that higher education schools need to make "reasonable accommodations" for all documented disabilities. They can't forbid you from taking a class unless it's dangerous, really. As long as it doesn't cost the school excessive money or a ridiculous amount of effort, they need to accommodate your needs. Try to find out if there's a disability office or couselor you can contact at the school. In elementary through high school it's likely different, as if someone needs to be accompanied all the time, govt agencies can supply a health para, I've worked as one myself, ironically enough.Best of luck,B
