Epilepsy Foundation Alaska

Over 6,000 People in Alaska are Living with Epilepsy
The Epilepsy Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy through education, advocacy, research, and connection.
From groundbreaking research to community-based education programs, professional training, and a 24/7 Helpline, the Epilepsy Foundation is here — so no one faces epilepsy alone.
The Epilepsy Foundation Alaska is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with epilepsy in our region and empowering their journeys every step of the way. Every day, we work to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for meaningful policies that make a difference. Together with our national network of local offices and community partners, we continue to expand access to care, deliver seizure recognition and first aid training, and connect individuals and families with the local resources they need.

Programs & Resources

Over the course of multiple weekly sessions, participants develop coping and goal-setting strategies that improve overall and discrete aspects of quality of life, epilepsy self-management, and address anxiety and depression. The program’s structure has been validated by randomized, controlled trials in multiple states. Its framework and curriculum, delivered via facilitated group sessions, is proven effective.
