Epilepsy News From: Wednesday, November 20, 2024

In recognition of National Epilepsy Awareness Month (NEAM), read the latest issue of Foundation Quarterly, which highlights the theme "Creating Change." This issue focuses on the strength, resilience, and courage of individuals within the epilepsy community. Committed to the mission that no one faces epilepsy alone, we share the powerful impact of people coming together to foster belonging and drive meaningful change. Through personal stories, expert insights, and community-driven initiatives, Foundation Quarterly showcases how those affected by epilepsy are transforming challenges into opportunities for growth, understanding, and support.

In line with the theme of National Epilepsy Awareness Month, we’re using this edition of Foundation Quarterly to highlight agents of change in our community.

Inside This Issue

This issue’s cover story features the incredible story of Courtney Genosi Caputo, chair of the National Epilepsy Walk, and vice chair of the National Board of Directors for the Epilepsy Foundation. Courtney and her family have participated in the National Epilepsy Walk for 10 years and continue to be staunch advocates for people with epilepsy. Read Courtney’s story of resilience and how she fought for her daughter’s seizure freedom through education and advocacy.

In addition to Courtney’s story, this edition features information about our Rare Epilepsies ECHO launching in January 2025, wellness tips to avoid stressful triggers while traveling this holiday season, a personal essay from one of our Teens Speak Up! participants, and more.

This Epilepsy Awareness Month, we encourage you to be an agent of change. Our community is strongest when we work together – no one should face epilepsy alone.
